Before beginning your international move abroad, it is a good idea to know exactly what shipping methods there are available to you, and what they each consist of. At Movecorp, we have a variety of options for international removals, and we are happy to explain them to you in detail, so that you’re not overwhelmed and confused by the process.

Sole-Use Container Shipping

Firstly, let’s start with the sole-use container. Sole-use, or whole use container shipping, is for those big moves where you would use the entire shipping container for your items. If you need a whole house move, then the sole-use container could be for you. You can opt for a 20ft or 40ft shipping container with Movecorp to fill as needed. This is for things like sofas, beds, wardrobes, desks, TVs, computers and other bulky furniture. From there, all you need to do is pick a transportation method and we will handle everything else, from wrapping and packing to customs and everything in-between.

Shared Container Shipping

Alternatively, customers can choose to use a shared container (or part-load container). This is for those with less items for shipping, and no need for the full space. When container sharing, you will only pay for the space that your items occupy, which is why this method of shipping is more cost-effective. Your items will travel overseas with other items, each expertly wrapped and packed with respect and consideration.

Sea Freight Shipping

The first shipping method in terms of transport is sea freight shipping. This is when shipping containers filled with goods are placed on a ship and transported to a new destination. This works well for European removals or overseas moves that aren’t in a hurry. Whether you are using sole-use or shared container shipping, this is a method to consider when transporting your items abroad.

Air Freight Shipping

If sea freight transport is not quick enough for your international shipping, then you can opt for air freight shipping. This is the fastest shipping method but it will cost you more. An air freight plane will take your items from point A to point B in no time, with experienced international movers dealing with customs upon arrival on your behalf, too.

Road Freight Transport

The last overseas option is road freight transport, which is for UK and European removals only. If you are planning to ship from UK to Australia, then this shipping method is not for you. However, if you are using the shared container method or a single shipping container, then you can use our road freight option. Your shipping container full of goods will be transported on roads to your chosen destination but this can be a long option – although cost-effective.

Man and Van Removals

Lastly, we have the man and van option. This is a UK only transport method, for it consists of a single van transporting goods across the UK. This works as an excellent alternative to the aforementioned shipping methods, and is perfect for those on a budget. If you have a small number of goods that you know will fit into a van, then this option is for you.

There you have it! International shipping needn’t be a headache, because we at Movecorp are dedicated to helping you in any way that we can. If you have any further questions, then do not hesitate give us a call or email today. Alternatively, check out more of our blog posts to get a better understanding of everything worldwide shipping!
