Stuttgart is the capital of the Baden-Württemberg state and is situated in the center of the southwest of Germany. Stuttgart is a cosmopolitan city and it is one of the most well-known German towns, particularly due to its and massive economic importance. 

Stuttgart was founded in the 13th century and became a residence to the counts of Württemberg, who made it their capital at the end of the 15th century. During World War II, the city centre was almost totally destroyed but after 1945 most of the older buildings have been restored.

Stuttgart is a chilled out city, its great environment includes the black forest and miles of vineyards which make it one of the most environmentally appealing cities in Europe. The region has a long wine making tradition which is carefully documented in a museum. In Stuttgart, you can find something for the whole family to enjoy: museums, art galleries, beautiful squares and spectacular palaces.

There are also plenty of shops, boutiques and street cafés, that offer fantastic views of the city. The city is the place where the motorbike and the car were invented, famous for brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. One of the Stuttgart’s best attractions is the Mercedes Benz museum.

Summer temperatures can be as high as 27ºC and in winter as low as -8ºCThe wettest months of the year are between May and August..
