About Dresden Germany :

Dresden was once known as "Florence on the Elbe," It is an industrial, and cultural center, known throughout the world for the "Frauenkirche", the largest Protestant domed building in history. Dresden is considered by many visitors as one of the most fantastic cities in Germany.

The city was founded in 1206. Dresden has a vast history and was royal residence for the Kings of Saxony.  In the World War II Dresden like many German cities was bombarded and the origional face of the city was changed forever. The center of Dresden was completely destroyed, including the priceless art that made the city world famous. The center is nowadays mostly restored to its former glory, some parts are however still under reconstruction.

Dresden’s main attractions are the beautiful churches and palaces, as well as many world-class museums, some being the finest in Germany. The Frauenkirche dominates the Dresden skyline with its wonderful baroque architecture.  The economic life of Dresden is always on the up: tourism, a fast moving computer industry and consumer goods all play important sectors.  Dresden is also a popular destination for conferences and fairs.
