Victoriaville Information :
Victoriaville is located in the centre of Quebec. It is chair of Arthabaska Regional County
Municipality. The place was home to a fur trader named John Gregory in the year 1825. Earlier the
colonists from the bank of St Lawrence River arrived in Victoriaville. The place was named to
honour the Queen Victoria after the inauguration of the railways. Victoriaville emerged as
urbanization in the year 1931 with the opening of a hospital, a college and school. The original name
of the town “Arthabaska” was passed on to one of the highest mountains in the vicinity. The place
covers an area of 84.20 km2.The climate of this place is quiet moderate and can be visited at any
time of the year. The population of the town is 40,486
